Veterans Honor Courtyard

VDLA worked with a committee of veterans and supporters to develop conceptual plans and construction bid documents for a courtyard garden area within La Colonia Park that honors the veterans of the historic Eden Gardens neighborhood and Solana Beach. The courtyard garden is part of the La Colonia Park Master Plan, which is being implemented in phases over time. The Veteran Honor Courtyard features built-in seating, benches, landscape plantings for shade and seasonal accent, and a Mexican themed water feature- all designed to blend with the architectural character of the La Colonia Park Community Center and the cultural heritage of the Eden Gardens neighborhood. Veteran honorees are identified on individual donor tiles in the courtyard paving.
