Plan Check Specialist
Todd Floyd is a seasoned professional and brings a well-rounded perspective to VDLA. Through his 20 years of construction and design experience, Todd possesses the ability to effectively analyze and communicate design and regulatory issues.
For the past few years, Todd has served as a plan check specialist for VDLA's client, the County of Riverside. In this role, he communicates with the home builders, commercial developers and other landscape architects, and assists with the submitting and processing of plans to the County of Riverside for approval. When Todd isn’t in the office, he is out and about, attending live music shows, gardening, hiking and kayaking.

Mr. Floyd is a Plan Check Specialist with the firm and has 20 years of experience in the A/E/C industry, encompassing project management, design build, habitat restoration, park and recreation facilities, commercial site design, and public agency projects. From 2000-2015, Mr. Floyd worked for various landscape architectural firms throughout southern CA. During this time he became fluent in grading and paving, off-site construction, heavy equipment operation and soils testing. Through this diversity of experience, he has become well-versed in local government agency requirements in the southern California region and proves to be a true asset to the team at VDLA in our plan checking department.
Mr. Floyd currently reviews landscape and irrigation projects for conformance with County and State ordinances. He works with water conservation ordinances and the required landscape water budget calculations, parking ordinances and sight distance requirements. His projects include reviewing: residential subdivision, parks, industrial parks, business parks, water quality features, retail centers, and medical facilities. Mr. Floyd currently plan checks for the County of Riverside, Eastern Municipal Water District and Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District wherein he plan checks: street and highway right-of-ways, regional and community parks and water quality features.
