VDLA worked in conjunction with the County of Riverside Transportation Department, the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, and CalTrans to develop conceptual options and construction documents for the roundabouts located at I-10 and Morongo Trail. Designs for this project took into account heavy solar exposure and high winds. In addition, they incorporated efficient low-volume drip irrigation and indigenous vegetation to create an affordable and easily maintainable entrance to the Morongo Casino, Resort, and Spa. Additionally, a bio-swale on the project’s eastern side collects and purifies stormwater runoff from nearby paved areas before releasing it into the storm sewer system.
