College Heights Library

VDLA provided landscape architectural design for a new 15,000 square foot library located on a 4 acre site in the College Heights - Rolando area of San Diego. Project entries, courtyards, gardens, plazas and pedestrian and vehicular circulation were developed for the overall vision. Consideration was also given to adjacent land uses, to determine potential connections and improvements. The project features a shared parking agreement with an adjacent church. The landscape and hardscape concept evolves from a ‘cosmos’ theme developed by local artist participation.
