VDLA was retained by The Community Association of Bernardo Heights (CABH) to assess existing conditions of plant material in the community’s medians and provide schematic designs to replace the turf with water-efficient plants in order to conserve water. Working with the Association Board of Directors, Property Manager, and landscape maintenance contractor, VDLA provided a visual assessment of existing landscape and irrigation conditions and developed a robust new plant palette. The palette included schematic designs for planting and irrigation in addition to standard details for implementing the designs. Design approach included the retention of mature trees and the consideration of sight restricted areas. The scope also included a PowerPoint presentation to the community and graphic display boards.
