VDLA designed all landscape architectural features at the Product Creation Center for Nokia Mobile Telecommunications. A dynamic 10,000 sf courtyard for outdoor meeting spaces and employee use features an 80 foot long radius wall defining the space, separating vehicle parking from the sunken courtyard. Planting themes transition from arid ‘desert’ areas to a riparian ‘oasis’ in the courtyard, which features boulder outcroppings and a cobble stream. Native plantings and drought-tolerant succulent plants were emphasized in the design, with water-conserving irrigation technologies utilized throughout.
