Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery

VDLA provided site planning and landscape architectural services for the addition of several
columbarium expansion projects at the renowned VA cemetery. Completed design projects
include of entry monuments, native landscaping, columbarium plazas, terrace and overlook
plazas, a memorial wall and connectivity to other areas of the existing cemetery. VDLA’s
scope of work included master planning, design development and construction documents,
including specifications. All design and documents were done in compliance with federal
guidelines and standards, and included working closely with the administrative and
maintenance staff of the existing cemetery. Despite challenging site constraints, the final
accessible design produced more columbarium niches than required by the initial program
statement.
