Nicole has four years of experience in the A/E/C industry with VDLA Landscape Architects. She joined them in 2007 as their administrative assistant until a stint abroad to Ecuador encouraged a seven year career as a Spanish teacher. She came back to VDLA in 2018 after having lived abroad in Medellin, Colombia for 18 months, joining the team as their marketing coordinator.
She is skilled in B2C, B2B and multi-channel marketing. She gives credit to her business coach who she worked with personally (while living abroad) for helping her to develop these skills that have added immense value to the team at VDLA. She quickly added business development to her repertoire as she loves to build relationships and connect with clients at a deeper level.
Nicole grew up in a small valley in northern California and has been immersed in the building industry since a very young age. She spent many summers helping her father build homes from the ground up and taking family trips to Home Depot for supplies.
Since about 12 years old, she found herself intrigued by design and spent (an undisclosed number of hours) avidly watching HGTV in the late 90s. She spent a year abroad in Madrid, Spain during her studies at San Diego State University as she was drawn to the the option to take a semester long art-history class in the Prado Museum. She has also lived abroad in Colombia, Mexico and Ecuador.
In her free time Nicole enjoys museum hopping...putting that art history minor to use. She also enjoys time with her cat Lucy and leading quarterly weekend retreats for emotional healing throughout southern California.
