Hidden Meadow Community Master Planning

VDLA provided master planning and thematic design services for the community of Hidden Meadow (now Mahogany Hills) in the French Valley are near Murrieta in Riverside County, California. The community lies within view of Mt. San Jacinto, and features a connective linear park system to link the community to the neighborhood recreation park located in the central part of this 527 lot neighborhood. A drought-tolerant landscape palette was developed, with an informal character predominate in open spaces such as the linear park, detention basins and slope areas. Entries, boulevards and park gathering spaces become more ordered in the landscape and hardscape geometry. Typical front yard landscape designs without turf have been developed for residences in the community in response to changing drought awareness and water-conservation ordinance updates.
