Ling Chan

Ling grew up in Hong Kong until she was 17 years old. She loves urban spaces and treasures any green space within the metropolis. She moved to San Diego after receiving her BS in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona. Ling is a well-rounded and highly experienced Landscape Architect, and also a LEED Accredited Professional.


She has two daughters who have both been dancing ballet, jazz and tap since they were 3 years old! She enjoys traveling the world and exploring different cuisines during her travels with her family. She likes edible gardens – landscaping with practical purposes.


Ling is currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the San Diego Chinese Academy.

An Associate of the firm, Ms. Chan’s experience includes park and recreation design, ranging from neighborhood parks with active play areas and tot lots, sports courts and dog parks to regional parks, campgrounds, open space and habitat preservation, and trails development. She is also versed in streetscapes, community planning and civic, institutional and educational facilities projects emphasizing pedestrian and recreational uses.


Skills include conceptual and site-specific design at both master planning and construction document levels, including planting, irrigation and hardscape design, computer graphic simulations, and preparation of materials for public/community group meetings. Project management experience includes plan and permit processing, and coordination and development of plans to meet the needs and requirements of the client, public agencies, and stakeholder groups.
