PARKS AND TRAILS

Harry Griffen Park

La Mesa, CA

Orchid Award: American Institute of Architects

Nine acres of Harry Griffen Park are dedicated as a native restoration area with pedestrian trails. A continuous loop trail forms the basis of the design, winding through the site. Landscape features include preserved low brush areas and a constructed dry stream bed. The design utilized native, drought-resistant plants and incorporated an efficient irrigation system.

Van Dyke Landscape Architects provided site analysis, two concept studies, a master plan and all required construction documentation for the site. In addition, scope of services included client support during community and agency reviews.
