Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery

As part of the contractor's design / build team, VDLA was responsible for landscape architectural design and preparation of working drawings and specifications for site planning design, including provision of new columbaria. This project was built amongst existing burial plots and columbaria, on both the east perimeter of the cemetery and the west side, along State Highway 209.  Numerous site constraints include extremely limited site space and varying topography. The columbarium was designed around the existing plant materials, thereby preserving existing mature trees.  Existing signage, posts and hardware were also recovered and reused. The design-builder rated our overall performance on this project as "Outstanding".
