The Colony at California Oaks

VDLA provided landscape master planning for this 87-acre community located in Murrieta, CA. Services included development of a landscape theme to replace the aging plants throughout the community.  The overall master plan graphic is keyed to conceptual designs for key areas, and a priority matrix recommending order of implementation with order of magnitude costs.  VDLA worked closely with the Landscape Committee and Master Board, and led two Town Hall meetings to present preliminary findings and the final master plan to the community. Construction document and schematic designs have been provided for the main entry, a secondary entry, and turf reduction along the main street of the community. On behalf of The Colony, VDLA also successfully obtained $94,000 in grant money for turf replacement projects, including preparation and submittal of the grant application.
